With 32 teams left, Wichita State, 9, takes on Gonzaga, 1. Gonzaga was being led by Kelly Olynyk, current Boston Celtic. In the final seconds of the game, the shockers defeated Gonzaga with a huge upset win.
Moving on to the Sweet Sixteen, Wichita State was matched against La Salle, a 13 seed, the only team that the Shockers have faced that were a lower seed than them. With an easy victory over La Salle, the Shockers move on to the Elite Eight.
The Wichita State Shockers were set to play Ohio State, a 2 seed. Many people believed that the Shockers had done enough "shocking" in this tournament, but I still believed in them.
The Shockers defeated Ohio State in a close one, 70-66, moving on to the Final Four for the first time since 1965.
But, the Shockers reign came to an end against Louisville, the 2012-13 champions, in a 72-68 loss. Losing a couple of Seniors going into the 2013-14 season, Wichita State had to start thinking about next year.

So, in the 2013-14 season, the Shockers have once again shocked the U.S.A. fighting to win each game.
Some of Wichita States's top performers are:
Ron Baker, Red-Shirted Sophomore
Fred Van Vleet, Sophomore
Tekele Cotton, Junior
Cleanthony Early, Senior
Nick Wiggins, Senior (Also prospect Andrew Wiggins' older brother)
The core of Wichita State is good, as a large amount of the players are not seniors. So, Wichita State has really opened the eyes of many College Basketball fans.
Keep your eyes on Wichita State as they have not only become my favorite College Basketball team, but have proven themselves worthy of being a top team.
